Usually, credit card information is not necessary to guarantee the reservation. All payment goes directly to the hotel. But, sometimes we will need a reconfirmation from you to verify that you are a serious customer.  Occasionally, during a special busy season like the Canton Fair, the Olympic Games, the hotel will ask for credit card information together with the paper copy of your credit card to secure the reservation.
